Terms of Use

1. What this app is, and who these terms are with

Kitchen Jam is licensed to you by the Application Provider — the developer identified on this app’s App Store listing — and not by Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the app or its content.

Kitchen Jam generates recipes using an artificial intelligence model that you supply, through your own account with a provider you choose. The results are creative suggestions produced by software. They are not tested recipes, and they have not been reviewed by a cook, a nutritionist, or anyone else.

2. No warranty as to generated output

The recipes, substitutions, timings, temperatures, quantities and explanations this app produces are provided as-is, without warranty of any kind as to their accuracy, completeness, suitability or safety. You are responsible for judging whether any recipe is appropriate for you and for anyone you cook for.

3. Allergens

The app flags common allergens, including hidden sources. It is a check on the model’s output, run on your device against the list you entered. It reads ingredient names. It cannot see brands, processing, production lines or cross-contamination, and it is not a guarantee. You must read the labels on the ingredients you actually cook with. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Application Provider is not liable for any allergic reaction arising from reliance on this feature.

4. Nutrition

Nutrition figures are estimates generated by an AI model. They are not measured, not laboratory-derived, and must not be used for medical or dietary management. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Application Provider is not liable for any outcome arising from reliance on them.

5. Health conditions and medical advice

Kitchen Jam is not a medical device, a health app, or a source of medical, dietetic or nutritional advice. If you ask for recipes suited to a medical condition — yours or anyone else’s — the app passes your request to your AI provider and displays what comes back, with a notice. The result has not been reviewed by a dietitian, a doctor, or anyone with knowledge of the condition, and it is not a therapeutic recommendation. Follow the guidance of your own care team. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Application Provider is not liable for any outcome arising from reliance on generated recipes in connection with any medical condition.

6. Food safety

Cooking times and temperatures are starting points, not tested instructions. Use a thermometer and follow standard food safety guidance. This app is not a source for food preservation guidance of any kind — canning, fermenting, curing or otherwise. Preservation errors can cause serious illness. Follow a tested method from a food safety authority. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Application Provider is not liable for any illness or injury arising from the preparation, cooking, preservation or consumption of food made with the app’s output.

7. Your AI provider

Your relationship with your AI provider is directly with that provider and is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy. The Application Provider is not a party to it, receives nothing from it, and operates no server that your requests pass through. Your prompts — including the dietary preferences and allergen information you have saved — are sent from your device to that provider, and what that provider does with them is governed by their terms.

8. The app itself

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express, implied or statutory — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The Application Provider does not promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost. Your recipes, profile and pantry live only on your device; keep your own copies of anything you would mind losing (Settings offers an export), because there is no copy of ours to restore from. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law: the Application Provider is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the app or these terms, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if advised that such damages were possible; and the Application Provider’s total liability for all claims relating to the app, taken together, is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited. If the law where you live gives you mandatory rights as a consumer, these terms do not take them away.

10. Apple

The app is distributed through Apple’s App Store, and Apple requires the following terms, which apply in addition to the rest:

11. Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and the current version always lives at this address. Using the app after a change means the changed terms apply.

12. Severability

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, that part applies to the extent the law allows, and the rest stands.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Venue for any dispute lies in King County, Washington.
